Another dream come true! We are extremely excited about the addition to the Chico Air Museum. This aircraft , a BT-13A Vultee Valiant, owned and flown by Rene Vercruyssen, is the iconic aircraft flown by Chico Army Air Field (CAAF) cadets during 1942 to 1945. Over 5,500 US Army flight cadets, many still teenagers, flew these aircraft for their Basic Training here in Chico. From there it was off to Advanced Training and their introduction to flying combat aircraft and becoming American heroes. Come see this beautiful aircraft.
